With Special Tribute to Rev. Maryanne McElroy
Prepare for an unforgettable evening of song so potent, you’ll feel it in your soul! Presented by East End Arts & Humanities Council since 1986, Harvest Gospel has been a celebration of community, connection, and the transformative power of music. It brings together singers from across the East End of Long Island to perform as a non-denominational community choir. The annual tradition unites people of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences in a shared expression of joy, gratitude, and inspiration to kick off the giving season for four decades and running.
For this special Harvest Gospel 40th Anniversary Concert, Grammy Awards nominee Pastor David Wright, son of the late gospel legend Rev. Timothy Wright, and Pastor Bettina Pennon, who has performed at the Grammy Awards, on multiple television productions, and off-Broadway, join the choir and add powerful solos. This year Harvest Gospel also includes a special performance by the East End Disabilities Associates choir, and most significantly, a special tribute to its founding Creative Director, Reverand Maryanne McElroy, who led the choir for thirty-eight years before handing the reins to current Music Director, Minister Byron Preston, who joined Harvest Gospel as a drummer at the age of 10.
Harvest Gospel 40th Anniversary Concert invites individuals of all or no faiths, of all ages, and of all backgrounds to join us at this incredible historical venue, thanks in part to support from the Suffolk County Department of Planning and Development and Discover Long Island. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit East End Arts Council’s Francis Ligon Memorial Music Scholarship Fund.
