An Evening with Horse Soldier Bob Pennington & Horse Soldier Bourbon
Join us for an unforgettable evening with Bob Pennington, one of the first 12 U.S. Special Operations soldiers to enter Afghanistan following the September 11th attacks. Facing rugged, mountainous terrain, Pennington and his fellow soldiers fought alongside allied forces on horseback against the Taliban — against staggering odds — and succeeded in dismantling a key Taliban stronghold in the region. Their extraordinary mission earned them the name “The Horse Soldiers” from President George W. Bush, and later inspired the film 12 Strong.
After returning home, Pennington and his team channeled their bond and resilience into Horse Soldier Bourbon, an award-winning bourbon company that recently unveiled a new facility on Kentucky’s famed Bourbon Trail.
This special evening will feature a guided tasting of three Horse Soldier Bourbon blends, paired with a live Q&A with Pennington. Every guest will go home with an autographed bottle of Horse Soldier Bourbon.
Proceeds benefit the Warrior Ranch Foundation of Calverton, NY. Warrior Ranch is a non-profit foundation that provides equine therapy to veterans and first responders, with an emphasis on those with PTS. It is a two fold mission, as not only does it provide equine therapy to vets and first responders, but it also takes in recused horses, retraining and repurposing them through the program with the ultimate goal for rehoming the horses into forever homes, making room to bring in more horses into need.
